The Great Bailout

Tags:

If you are mad as hell about the passage of the Great Bailout, then yell until you are heard!  Yelling together, we will convict the people who stole from U.S. taxpayers.

Under the guise of the Great Bailout of the U.S. economy, Paulnankebush and Congress are stealing over $700 billion from U.S. taxpayers to bail out people around the world who chose to gamble on the financial industry.  Paulnankebush and Congress are giving this stolen money to investors in, and management and employees of, financial companies who made risky bets and lost...well, they lost until they were bailed out.  By the way, the investors, management, employees, and financial companies who are receiving this stolen U.S. taxpayer money are all over the world, not just in the U.S.!

Status:  We may be witnessing the beginning of the end of American democracy.  On October 3, 2008, Congress and President Bush passed the Great Bailout proposed by Paulson/Bernanke/Bush (Paulnankebush), against the will of 80% of Americans who registered an opinion, with citizen participation being at the highest level in 20 years.  The S&P 500 futures market plunged immediately upon Senate approval, again immediately upon House approval, and again immediately upon President Bush's approval.

Are you ready to give up, or to rise up and convict the perpetrators?

It's time to throw the bums out!  Throw out both the U.S. Government officials who are stealing from the U.S. taxpayers and the financial companies that are accepting the stolen proceeds.

Yell to the world how you're not going to take this anymore.  Sign both petitions, and then email/tell as many people as you can to visit http://I-mMadAsHell.com and do so too.

Then throw the bums out!

  • Click here for a list of the U.S. Government officials and financial companies to throw out of your life.

I agree...but what are the other options (if any) to get out of this mess instead. I think congress needs to go after the people who got us here.
OurCreation 1217 - days ago
There's another option described at http://AmericaIs.OurCreation.info .

This is socialism at it's best, Paulson gets all most everything he wanted and that is to protect these incompetent morons, with we the taxpayers money and we will still get our bad recession or depression, and you can take that to the bank, but those who got us here will walk away with their golden parachutes.

I'm all for giving the people the money and we can trickle it up to those morons.
Guest 1217 - days ago
We cant really let the banks crash and burn. Here is another option: WE SHOULD DEMAND EQUITY! Please read and if you agree contact your congressman:

Realizing that these political canadates get a lot of BIG donations both direct and indirect from these finanical institutions & their CEO's it shouldn't suprise anyone on whats taking place, and they will make a big show of working it over so the average taxpayer don't understand it until its too late!
Guest 1217 - days ago
Re: 'MonitorDaily' link above...

I have no idea how in practice you separate out banks which "have benefited from toxic assets" and those which have not. Are there *any* financial institutions out there that have not in any way, shape, or form benefited from these toxic assets over the previous 5 years?
Guest 1217 - days ago
Guess who didn't completely agree with the Bailout. It is Obama!

Vote for Obama 2008!

Congress is part of the reason we are Here!

This is criminal! Both parties are at fault and profiting. CORPORATE AMERICA IS STRONGER because of this, BUT AMERICANS ARE DOOMED FINANCIALLY because of this! Lay-offs will occur more rapidly, too much home inventory already on the market, and stricter credit rules apply to buyers so will become even harder to acheive "THE AMERICAN DREAM". This bailout will ONLY SATISFY AND STRENGTHEN THE GLOBAL MARKETS, WILL ALLOW CORPORATE AMERICA TO CONTINUE ITS CRIMINAL PRACTICES AS NEW BOARD MEMBERS WILL BE APPOINTED BY THE SAME PEOPLE IN POWER WHO CAUSED THIS DEBACLE, AND SO ON AND SO FORTH. School grants will be few and far between, healthcare reform is no more, and Barack and McCain will HAVE to change their Political Platform, it's all a wash.

$700 billion! I'm no dummy. Citigroup(CitiCriminals), C'Mon.

Govt for the Rich, By the Rich, Solely to get the Rich Richer, and more criminal-minded they become.

Bold and Brazen. I think there is no other choice, it has to pass, we Have No Other Choice because they gave us no other Choice. Get your Bibles and let's all pray for this wicked, wicked govt of ours. Our money is being prioritized in the OIL RICH countries, and in Iraq's infrastructure. We have our name and tax dollars written all-over Iraq right now, what they won't tell you, find in govt docs on the Internet. They may not tell, but it's all not a concealed secret why this is happening, and we American's are being screwed!
Guest 1217 - days ago
Get rid of the Federal Reserve Bank !! It's illegally assigned to handle our money and should be made to pay back all of the money they've stolen since 1913 .
Guest 1217 - days ago
Guess who helped stop the bail out from being final? McCain! If McCain had not suspended his campaign to go to Washington and support the Republicans who do not agree with the bail out, before even taking a look at it, it would have passed. Kudos to McCain!!!!

And, why are the former CEO's Johnson and Raines of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac working for O'Bama now? These CEO's made out with 90 million dollars or more. That sounds fishy to me. I don't want any of these guys taking over in 09. Especially over the mortgage industry.

Bush sent regulators time and time again, but the Democrats cried "racism" like they always do. The Democrats are up to their eye balls in the middle of this crises. Hopefully all the ugly heads will rear up before it's not too late, before the election.

McCain/Palin 08. We are praying that God will open doors for you. When God opens a door, no man can shut it!!!!

We, as taxpayers, were intimidated at the 11th hour by our administration to vote for a bailout with little or no explanation with the threat that the economy would implode otherwise. Who are these bullies who do not respect the citizens of this country? This reminiscent of being intimidated by this same administration of going to war with with the threat of facing another 9/11 justified with a lot of trumped up claims that later turned out to be false. We have since faced invading the wrong country, thousands of valiant American soldiers dead, tens of thousands others dead, and a bill to reach a trillion dollars, amonst other tragedies along the way with no real guarantee that the threats have been diminished. Now we are entering into another trillion dollar mess because we were intimidated intol thinking there is no other choice. Is there any deception here?

Who are we as citizens and taxpayers? Are we just "committed to ignorance" so that the next bully comes along and intimidates us into agreeing to anything they say?

Yes, I am mad as hell!!!! Wake up, be aware, find out what is going on!!! Make our representatives responsible for their acitions. Vote your convictions in November, but don't give into lies and intimidation.

THE UNITED STATES MUST NOT SUPPORT ANY FINANCIAL BAILOUT THAT INVOLVES HANDING MONEY OVER TO THE FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS 'RESPONSIBLE' FOR INCURRING THIS FINANCIAL NIGHTMARE IN THE FIRST PLACE - IN ORDER THAT THEY CAN MERELY POCKET MONEY THAT IS GIVEN TO THEM BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.

DO NOT ACCEPT ANY OTHER EXCUSE. THIS SITUATION IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE FOR THE VAST MAJORITY OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.

DO NOT - I REPEAT DO NOT - SUPPORT ANY FORM OF AN AMMENDMENT TO THIS NONSENSICAL PLAN.

With immense respect for the United States People,

stop the bail out. let;s see what happens. most of us probably won't be affected. they are using scare tactics. i don;t see any of my local banks closing and they won't. some even have signs saying come in for loans. don't let these crooks steal any more money.
Fred 1217 - days ago
The people who have been reporting record profits these past several years must now be taken to task for it. This bailout should come out of their pocket, not mine.
bopper 1217 - days ago
They got themselves into this problem! Now our "Great Mistake of a President" is using the great skills (the only one's he has) of scare tactics. Get back the trillion from the people he gave it to after he wasn't elected our president.
Congress::::: Vote no. We will survive and lEt the giant rich people take their money and solve the problems ...THAT THEY CREATED!!!!
Guest 1216 - days ago
If you have any money in the market - the bailout would have provided a soft landing .. so that people could minimize their losses - in the 401k's, retirement plans etc.. By not passing the bill, we all have to get ready for a seeing most of our investments roiled....and maybe never come back in the next 10 years!....
Guest 1216 - days ago
I totally agree. The US should NOT approve any bailout without the appropriate oversights. Nancy Pelosi made the biggest mistake of her career by open her mouth before the House vote. She reminded us why nothing got done since the Dems took over Congress.

This financial crisis is all due to the managers of the Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. They were appointed by the democrats and protected by the democrats!!! As payback, they got money from their respective PACs & employee contributions.

For the GirlfridayinTX, you are totally wrong! Obama was pushing this bailout and I announced that the comprised was achieved which he had a lot of input! Wow... what a leader! Can we imagine what he is going to do next, when we face an international crises!

Vote for McCain - Palin Ticket.
SoCalFairTax 1216 - days ago
Why are financial services such a huge part of our economy? Because Washington has chased away our manufacturing and won't allow us to produce our own energy...

We need to become a magnet for investment and revitalization of manufacturing. A great place to start would be to pass the FairTax.

We The People need to become knowledgeable about the FairTax and then follow grassroots efforts such as this "No Bailout" effort to get congress to move.

Wikipedia has a balanced assessment of the FairTax. Or you can go directly to www.fairtax.org for good information.

Peace,

This artcle does a good job of explaining why US taxpayers should not transfer their wealth to financial companies, and why the economy will not collapse if we don't and instead the poorly managed financial companies go through bankruptcy in order to clean house.

"Bankruptcy, not bailout, is the right answer"

All my life I have lived in a budget. I don't drive new cars every other year, my house is somewhat small, my boat is a 4 man rowboat, but I have always lived underbudget. When I asked for a loan I took only what I had to have, not the extra the banks wanted to give. I paid extra everytime I had extra money on hand instead of going on vacation in Europe. My children have chores to do at home to which they earn spending money. So to have Congress bail out wallstreet is a slap in my face. It devalues my work ethic, my life long principles of working and paying my bills on time. It teaches my children it ok to live beyond your means because someone will bail you out.

Yes people will loose there jobs, and it will be hard for a time, but it can and must be done. Let wallstreet fall. I live so far away from wallstreet I can't hear it fall anyway. This is america, dig in work hard and turn this around. Don't expect my grandkids grandchildren to hold the morage on this bailout for fear things may get tough. Wallstreet deal with it. Congress don't pass it. President stop insighting fear in hopes people will panic and pass your agenda. This is America we don't panic we deal with adversity........
Guest 1216 - days ago
The last thing my family needs right now is to have to bailout the companies that are destined for bankruptcy. We are just getting up on our feet after nearly two years of my husband being unemployed. We live in a fire at will state. When he was let go, he was denied unemployment. It has taken him two years to find viable employment. We were on our own, NOBODY BAILED US OUT!! Why should we easily accept a huge chunk of debt that some filthy rich beaurocrat has incrued. When we needed help from our government the answer we got was NO and that is the answer we are giving to them. NO WE WILL NOT BAIL YOU OUT !!!!!!!
SDENISE 1216 - days ago
Make your voice heard and don't vote for Obama or McCain who both support this disaster. I'm voting for Bob Barr.

How can we get rid of the Fed? They should let the market set interest rates. Setting them lower than the market allows is what got us here.
Guest 1216 - days ago
This mess occurred from ill-conceived federal policies. Let's not add to it. The government bears a huge responsibility for the current mess. Let's not attempt to fix bad government with more government. The alternative to a bailout is letting troubled financial institutions declare bankruptcy. which means that shareholders typically get wiped out and the creditors own the company. Bankruptcy punishes those who took excessive risks and preserves profitable aspects of business. NO BAIL OUT!
Lisa Spires 1215 - days ago
Don't think McCain or O'bama are really on our side. They are both involved and support the people doing this to us. We need to all vote third party and send a message to the two party system. I will casting my vote for Chuck Baldwin. The two party candidates are bought and paid for already.

NO BAILOUT!!!!! What part of that dont you understand. You work for us Congressmen and Senators. Start looking for a new job in November if you vote yes!

I want to register my agreement with the sentiment voiced above disagreeing with the proposed bailout of the businesses who made bad decisions to loan money to people with bad credit.

I do not wish to finance their poor business practices or have my children and their children paying the Wall Street money brokers in their sweat and blood.

I strongly believe those who need the most "bail-out" fully expected the government to bail them out, and made the decisions purposefully and with bad intent.

If you wish to see the books balanced, take the income, property, houses, boats, stocks, options and any other golden parachutes the people responsible have and apply that money and property to the bail-out. The combined income and property of those responsible will easily exceed the amount of the bail-out, and the act of making them responsible will strengthen the financial market as the rules the SEC put in place after Enron strengthened corporate accountability.

Also, the Obama and McCain supporters are BOTH wrong. Both Senators voted FOR the bail-out. Go figure where they see most of their (financial) support coming from.
Colton 1214 - days ago
Honestly, I don't think this bailout is something that should be done, but I also don't believe this financial "crisis" is going to have near the impact as much as people think it will. It may be the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression, but we have far too much of an infrastructure set up now for that to have the same effect.

Think about it, the internet, computers, telephone lines, all of these modes of communication are so cheap it's nearly negligible. Sure, we may not drive as often, but we don't *need* to drive as often, we can stay just as connected as we always have, it's what the Internet is for.

The only people affected by this "crisis" are those who helped start it. Me? Me and my fixed-rate student loans, my bicycle, and my computer are going to be just fine, and that's about all I need.

THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA IS ATTEMPTING TO MANIPULATE VOTERS INTO THINKING, "most voters are for this" so says Millionaire Matt Lauer---who will says what "Daddy CEO" tells him to say, so, when he takes his nose out of his butthole...he "may" finally get a news anchor job...

They want people to believe, "It is only you who thinks this way...and it is crap...DONT STOP VOICING...GET ANGRY AND INCREASE IT...they are trying to manipulate you.

People seem to have fogotten that the economy was doing well overall until the democrats gained the majority of the house and senate, and that's when our economy began to really suffer, with all their oversight commities, how did they miss this delima?

President Bush time and time again urged congress to address this matter, with, as usual, no co-operation from the demacratic majority congress.

.....and as far as the war goes, the only opinion I respect on that subject is the brave men and women that are fighting this war, and when I hear them speak of the progress they have made concerning this country's safety and the Iraqi peoples betterment and safety ,my hat is off to each and every one of them. GOD Bless them all !! I don't understand these liberal minded peolpe that think this war was something President Bush got this country into with false scare tactics. Well when radical, extreme, muslim terrorist have the intention, now and for years past, to destroy this country, and has already murdered thousands of totally innocent, hard working, tax paying citizens, I think it's time to be concerned, and maybe even scared. Appartently when the same liberal democrats were faced with the decision whether or not to go forth with this war they all agreed with the President, and they made their decision based on the same information that the President had at the time, but when public opinion changed, they changed their mind and their covictions.

I can't think of a time in history when this coutry had a better reason to go to war, THAN WHEN TERRORIST, come into a peacful nation and murder INNOCENT PEOPLE, in the name their god.

I agreed with President Bush then, as I do now, At least he says what he means and means what he says, what a shame more of our political leaders are'nt blessed with this attribute.

I have an idea, how about we bail out the victims of this mess, that is people like me, who can't afford the bills I have. Maybe if they took that 700 billion dollars and gave it to the tax payers, we would have money to save and spend, then maybe the economy wouldn't be so bad. But no, it's just like our wonderful government to make the rich richer, and the poor poorer. Even if the banks had the money to give loans, who the hell can afford more bills. Thats just my thoughts though.

Don't know where to go , and who to talk too , but i am mad as hell about what this country is doing. Just finished watching Fox News and some ass named Wayne Allen Root is talking about busting the auto unions. The working class in this country is being run off and we will all be trying to support families on a Burger King salary. When are people going to wake up and figure out we will be a third world country in no time.
